Provisions in the Whangarei District Plan trigger resource consent requirement for some activities in sensitive environments. Recognising the need to provide clear guidance to potential applicants upon potential effects and to offer some “best practice” approaches to avoiding or mitigating such effects, the Whangarei District Council engaged Littoralis to prepare a pair of guidance booklets focussed on smaller, site specific activities and on more broadscale land use changes. The guidelines utilise three dimensional models to offer very clear and legible demonstrations of different ways to address potential issues.
